Conference Theme and Tracks

NOSC 2012 will explore engaged scholarship and practice that advance the theme "Partner. Inspire. Change." and that fall within one of the following tracks: Voice of the Faculty and Staff, Voice of the Student, and Voice of the Community Partner. Conference planners have established these tracks in a special effort to attract more proposals from community partners and students. Although many proposals will reflect collaborations, in submitting proposals, proposers are required to specify one of the three tracks.

Proposals

Proposals are sought for research and evidenced-based practice that advance engaged scholarship and practice through research findings, innovative design and partnership, community/institutional impact, curriculum, policy, service-learning, civic engagement, and in other ways.

Sessions

  1. Individual or symposium presentations. Individual presentations are best suited for reporting specific results of research findings or practice. Symposia are best suited for reporting the results of research findings or practice by up to four presenters on a related topic.
  2. Individual posters or poster symposia. Individual posters are best suited for reporting specific results of research findings or practice. A poster symposium is designed for up to four posters on a related topic.

Session lengths will vary depending on topic and number of presenters with most sessions lasting between 60 and 75 minutes allowing time for presentation of information and discussion.
