Partner Programs

ESC fosters the development and dissemination of high quality, collaborative, engaged scholarship through its support of preconference events and the Academy of Community Engagement Scholarship (ACES).

Academy of Community Engagement Scholarship

The Engagement Scholarship Consortium supports the Academy of Community Engagement Scholarship

The mission of the Academy of Community Engagement Scholarship shall be to serve the public good by recognizing and contributing to high quality scholarship that—in active collaboration with participating community partners—has a positive impact on complex societal needs and issues. Through the involvement of leading community engagement scholars and practitioners, and their most knowledgeable, collaborative, and effective community counterparts, ACES will explore critical and complex societal and community issues and provide recommendations, upon request, to inform local, regional, national, and international research and policy agendas.

Emerging Engagement Scholars Workshop

A pre-conference event of the Engagement Scholarship Consortium Annual Conference for advanced doctoral students and early career faculty

This intensive professional development program provides advanced doctoral students and early career faculty with background literature, facilitated discussion, mentoring, and presentations designed to increase their knowledge and enhance their practice of community-engaged scholarship.

Engagement Academy for University Leaders

A professional development program that offers a pre-conference event of the Engagement Scholarship Consortium Annual Conference for university leaders and faculty

The Engagement Academy for University Leaders (EA) is a professional development program designed to help higher education leaders develop collaborative relationships with external partners in a way that helps institutions and communities thrive. EA programs are led by scholars and national higher education leaders whose research and practice focuses on building and sustaining engaged institutions. In addition to its other offerings, EA offers a pre-conference workshop in conjunction with the annual Engagement Scholarship Consortium (ESC) conference.

Outreach and Engagement Practitioners Network

A network that organizes a pre-conference event of the Engagement Scholarship Consortium Annual Conference for university staff, non-tenure-track faculty, and community partners

Sponsored by the Engagement Scholarship Consortium (ESC), the Outreach and Engagement Practitioners Network (OEPN) is a community of practice for university staff, non-tenure-track faculty, and community partners. These outreach and engagement professionals—or “boundary spanners”—develop and sustain relationships between higher education institutions and community partner organizations by facilitating, managing, directing, and administering ongoing projects, programs, services, and research.

Pre-College and Youth Programming Workshop

A pre-conference event of the Engagement Scholarship Consortium Annual Conference for postsecondary leaders, faculty, and professional staff

Sponsored by the Engagement Scholarship Consortium (ESC), this pre-conference professional development workshop explores the ways in which postsecondary institutions can positively impact pre-college students through youth programming. It brings the pre-college conversation to a national and international level through continued discussion of new practices in working with pre-college students on college campuses.
