Carol Burton manages the Center for Career and Professional Development, Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning, and the Mountain Heritage Center at Western Carolina University. As Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, Burton also directs the Liberal Studies Program designed to prepare students for global citizenship. In her 30 years at WCU, Burton has devoted herself to community-engaged research, works to implement service learning, and assists the Office of Undergraduate Studies.
