Drew Pearl is an assistant professor of leadership and community-engaged learning with the Staley School of Leadership at Kansas State University. His research interests include: the institutionalization of community engagement, motivations for and impacts of community-engaged learning, academic publishing in higher education community engagement, and boundary spanners and community engagement professionals. Dr. Pearl previously served as director of community engagement research and publications with the Division of Community Affairs, University of Alabama, where his work focused on supporting students through the Student Community Engagement Center and SCOPE, facilitating community-engaged scholarship professional development, and managing the publication of the Journal of Community Engagement and Scholarship. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Georgia’s Institute of Higher Education, an M.P.A from UGA, an M.M. from the University of New Mexico, and a B.M. from Vanderbilt University.
