As Chief Engagement Officer and Paul Sather Distinguished Director of the Service Learning Academy at the University of Nebraska - Omaha, Julie Dierberger has provided leadership in service-learning, community engagement, and student leadership development across public and private higher education institutions for more than 20 years. Her research and scholarship focus on professional development, student learning, and partnership development in experiential contexts across the P–16 educational spectrum and within communities. Julie Dierberger has served on the editorial board of the Metropolitan Universities Journal, on the research and scholarship committee of the Society for Experiential Education, on the advisory board of SXSW EDU, and as president of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, Chapter 97. In the community, she has also served on the boards of the Aksarben/Elmwood Park Neighborhood Association, the South Omaha Community Care Council, and Main Street Fremont.
