ESC Awards Program
Awards for Excellence in Engaged Scholarship
The Engagement Scholarship Consortium supports and encourages excellence in engaged scholarship through its awards and recognitions programs. The ESC Awards Program recognizes higher education institutions and their exemplary contributions to scholarship and the practice of engaged scholarship. Focused on excellence in engaged scholarship, ESC held its first Awards and Recognition Program during the 2018 Annual Conference. A key priority of ESC 20/20 – Vision. Focus. Impact., the Awards Program provides institutional recognition in five categories: Student, Faculty, Community Partner, Distinguished Engaged Scholar, and Institutional Leadership. All higher education institutions (2- and 4-year, public and private) are eligible to submit nominations. Institutional award recipients will receive a cash award (up to $3,000), certificate, and two registration fee waivers for the 2020 ESC Annual Conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and will participate in an Award Recipients Panel Presentation during the conference.
PLEASE NOTE: The ESC Executive Committee agreed as part of the ESC 20/20 strategic plan that the first recipients of the Ryan, Moser, Reilly Institutional Excellence Award would recognize the founding ESC institutions (University of Wisconsin - Extension, Ohio State University, and Pennsylvania State University). The recipients have been selected by the ESC Executive Committee and will be recognized during the 2018, 2019, and 2020 ESC Annual Conferences. ESC will begin accepting nominations for the Ryan, Moser, Reilly Institutional Leadership Award as well as the Hiram “Hi” Fitzgerald Distinguished Engaged Scholar Award in 2021.
